is a dream come
true. Death
was so close before I arrived here. It's
hard to believe that strangers care, when those you
felt loved you hurt you so much."
-- My Sister's Home shelter resident
Volunteers
are an integral part of our agency. In 1999 alone, volunteers
contributed over 12,000 hours. We couldn't do our job
without them.
We
have
three types of volunteers:
 Direct
Service Volunteers. Want to work directly
with the domestic violence victims that EDVP serves?
We offer an intensive 50-hour training session that
includes domestic violence education, crisis intervention
skills, working with children who have witnessed domestic
violence and much more.
 Support
Service Volunteers. Want to work with our
agency in other areas? We have opportunities to help
with administration, fundraising, community education
and much more.
 Technology
Volunteers. Want to contribute your technical
or graphic design skills to a great cause? We have an
active technology group working on leading-edge creative
and technical projects.
