"I saw my Dad hurt my Mom when I was in bed sleeping."
-- From a 5-year old whose mother was certain that she was unaware of what was happening in the home.

Support service volunteers play a crucial role in running our agency and working with the community. Opportunities are available in areas including the Speaker's Bureau, fundraising, office support, publicity and support to the Board of Directors.

What Is Required of Me As a Support Service Volunteer?

All potential volunteers are recruited and ongoing volunteers supervised by the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are required to complete the appropriate agency forms, follow agency procedures, and submit all paperwork to the Volunteer Coordinator in a timely manner. Every volunteer is involved in regular evaluation and is expected to attend ongoing training sessions. The number of required hours for volunteers varies and is dependent upon the position. Volunteers are asked to make a minimum six-month commitment to EDVP upon completion of training. All volunteers will be provided with a volunteer manual which includes training materials and additional information.
