  The
Community Program
For domestic violence victims and their children who
are not currently staying in one of our shelters.
This includes women who are now or previously were
in abusive relationships. Opportunities
are available to serve clients individually, in groups,
and on the crisis line (crisis intervention and ongoing
case management).
  My
Sister's Home Emergency Shelter
For
women and children facing serious and potentially
lethal threats of physical violence from their abusers.
Opportunities include individual, family, and group
work with women and children.
  My
Friend's Place Transitional Shelter
For
women who are dealing with the dual issues of chemical
dependency and domestic violence. Opportunities include
individual, family or group work with the residents,
including women and children.
The
internship also includes an intensive 50 hour training
program which is offered three times a year - January,
May and September. The training encompasses the dynamics
of domestic violence, crisis intervention counseling,
issues of oppression and its implications. Here is a
typical Training Program
